CHN SPEC FS-600 Multispectral Camera (6 multispectral bands)
The CHN SPEC FS-600 Multispectral Camera (6-channel Multispectral Camera) is a new generation spatial data acquisition device. Unlike traditional 4-channel cameras, the FS-600 is equipped with up to 6 separate spectral lenses. The increased number of wavebands helps the device collect a massive and more detailed amount of biological data, thereby mapping the absolute accurate health status of vegetation over large areas in just a single flight.
Outstanding Features
- Independent 6 multispectral band system: The device simultaneously records data across 6 different wavebands (typically including Blue, Green, Red, Red Edge 1, Red Edge 2, and Near Infrared – NIR). The presence of multiple Red Edge bands helps calculate in-depth vegetation indices with higher accuracy, particularly sensitive to changes in chlorophyll content.
- Global Shutter image synchronization: All 6 lenses use a global shutter and are trigger-synchronized at the millisecond level. This completely eliminates image distortion when the UAV flies at high speeds, ensuring the 6 multispectral image layers can be perfectly superimposed in post-processing software.
- Downwelling Light Sensor (DLS) module with integrated GPS: The device comes with an upward-facing light sensor (DLS – Downwelling Light Sensor) to continuously record the intensity and angle of sunlight throughout the flight. This data helps automatically compensate and calibrate light reflectance, ensuring spectral data is always accurate whether it’s sunny or cloudy.
- Ultra-lightweight & Multi-platform compatibility: With weight optimized to a minimum and a monolithic aerodynamic design, the FS-600 easily integrates into popular Fixed-wing or Multirotor drones on the market without significantly depleting the aircraft’s battery life.
- Accurate spatial positioning (RTK Ready): The device can directly receive coordinate signals from the Drone’s GPS/RTK positioning system, embedding centimeter-accurate Geotagging into the metadata of each photo right at the moment of capture.

Practical Applications
With superior spectral analysis capabilities from 6 wavebands, the CHN SPEC FS-600 is an indispensable “magic eye” in projects:
- Precision Agriculture: Calculating a series of complex growth indices (NDVI, NDRE, SAVI, GNDVI…), thereby mapping variable rate fertilizer application, and early detecting weeds, pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies in crops before they are visible to the naked eye.
- Forestry and Ecology: Monitoring forest biomass, evaluating canopy cover, and mapping the classification of different vegetation in nature conservation projects.
- Plant Phenotyping: Providing detailed spectral data for seed and crop research institutes to breed more drought-tolerant and salt-tolerant plant varieties.
- Environmental Resource Management: Monitoring surface water quality, and tracking the growth of algae and aquatic vegetation in rivers, lakes, and dam areas.
