Konica Minolta CR-5 Spectrophotometer
The CR-5 Colorimeter: Compact, versatile, and multi-functional, the Konica Minolta CR-5 is designed with a top-port measurement configuration, optimized for rapid and convenient evaluation of solid specimens. Operators simply place the sample onto the measurement port and press the MEAS button, eliminating the need for sample clamping or shifting alignments. The instrument is also equipped with a Ø3mm aperture lens for small-scale or custom target samples. Furthermore, when paired with a Petri dish (optional accessory), the unit seamlessly measures liquids, pastes, and powder forms.
Operating Instructions for the Konica Minolta CR-5
Operating the Konica Minolta CR-5 spectrophotometer is a straightforward 3-step workflow, making it exceptionally user-friendly even for beginners. Featuring an integrated operation wizard, the device guides operators through configuration and routine testing without requiring continuous reference to the instruction manual.
- Step 1: Initialization and Power On: Upon powering on, the CR-5 automatically initializes and executes an automated white/100% calibration* utilizing an internal white calibration plate positioned behind the shutter. (Note: This automated routine does not apply to liquid transmission cell measurements).
- Step 2: Sample Positioning: For reflectance measurements, the top-port configuration accommodates specimens of diverse shapes and dimensions. For transmittance measurements, the CR-5 features a spacious transmission chamber designed for evaluating liquids using optional cells.
- Step 3: Executing Measurements: Press the MEAS button to trigger the measurement cycle. Precise data readouts are displayed instantaneously on the integrated screen.
LCD Display of the CR-5 Colorimeter
This color measurement instrument features a built-in display that can be configured into any of 7 operating languages: English, German, Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, and Simplified Chinese.
Data Logging and Storage Capabilities of the CR-5
The CR-5 delivers high convenience regarding the storage of personal condition settings and measurement records. Operators can back up operational settings to a USB flash drive, minimizing setup workloads and boosting workplace efficiency. Concurrently, raw data and calculated testing results can be logged to a USB drive, supporting retrospective data analysis.
Transmittance Measurement Capabilities of the CR-5
The transmittance measurement chamber of the CR-5 is engineered to be large and precise, capable of accommodating substantial specimens up to a maximum thickness of 60mm. For liquid samples, the system offers optional measurement cells with three different optical path lengths to accommodate varying sample densities, in addition to supporting standard 10mm wide cells.
Standard Chemical Indices Measurement
The CR-5 enables effortless determination of critical industry-specific color indices widely used in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, including Gardner, Iodine, Hazen (APHA), European Pharmacopoeia, and US Pharmacopeia, without the tedious handling of physical standard solutions.
Applications of the CR-5
This instrument is extensively implemented within quality workflows throughout the pharmaceutical, chemical, food manufacturing, and various processing industries.
