CHN SPEC FS-13 Hyperspectral Camera (400~1000 nm)
The CHN SPEC FS-13 Hyperspectral Camera (VNIR Hyperspectral Camera) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) surface and structure analysis machine specifically designed for the 400 nm to 1000 nm wavelength range. This device acts as an industrial “magic eye”, not only acquiring color images with absolute accuracy but also “reading” near-infrared indices related to chlorophyll, surface moisture, and micro-physical defects. The FS-13 is the standard choice for Machine Vision systems and agro-biological research.
Outstanding Features
- Core VNIR spectral band (400 – 1000 nm): This waveband covers all visible light (to evaluate color, stains, and morphology) and extends into the Near-Infrared spectrum. Near-infrared is particularly sensitive to plant cell structures, surface water content, and the smallest biochemical changes, making it the perfect waveband for evaluating agricultural product quality.
- 3D data block (Hypercube) export: The device scans the sample and generates a massive multidimensional data block comprising 2 spatial dimensions (X, Y) and 1 spectral dimension (λ). At each pixel, the camera provides a continuous spectral graph, helping to accurately locate the position of any component or defect on the product.
- High-speed Push-broom scanning mechanism: The FS-13 operates on a continuous push-broom scanning mechanism, optimized to synchronize with the speed of automated production conveyors. The acquired images are sharp and unblurred even when the object is moving fast.
- Industrial & Flexible design: With its compact size, the FS-13 is easily integrated into laboratory microscope systems, robotic arms, waste sorting conveyors, or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) inspection scanning systems, depending on the mounting configuration.
- AI & Machine Learning algorithm compatibility: The acquired data block is a rich resource for “training” Artificial Intelligence algorithms. Users can set up automated sorting models so the system can make decisions to reject defective goods on its own without human intervention.

Practical Applications
Operating powerfully in the VNIR band, the CHN SPEC FS-13 is a core device for a series of quality control and research applications:
Food & Agricultural Product Industry:
- Sorting fruits and vegetables by ripeness and color in the most uniform way.
- Early detection of bruises, mold, or hidden diseases under the peel before they manifest externally.
- Separating impurities that have the same color as agricultural products but differ in cell structure.
Agricultural Research (Plant Phenotyping): Mapping vegetation indices (such as NDVI, chlorophyll levels), and monitoring crop stress (water shortage, fertilizer deficiency) at the laboratory or greenhouse level.
Printing & Textile Industry: Inspecting color uniformity at a strict level, detecting dyeing defects, fabric yarn defects, and especially solving the Metamerism phenomenon (materials having the same color under one light source but different under another).
Biomedicine & Forensic Science: Scanning cell tissue samples to analyze abnormalities; assisting in document authentication, distinguishing printing inks and microscopic traces at crime scenes.
