CHN SPEC FS-14 Multispectral Camera (400~1700 nm)
The CHN SPEC FS-14 Hyperspectral Camera (Broadband VNIR-SWIR Hyperspectral Camera) is a top-tier Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) analysis solution, possessing an ultra-wide wavelength range spanning from 400 nm to 1700 nm. Instead of having to invest in and synchronize two separate camera systems (one for VNIR and one for SWIR), the FS-14 allows users to simultaneously acquire both intuitive surface color characteristics and the chemical structure hidden deep inside the material in just a single scan.
Outstanding Features
Ultra-wide dual spectral band (400 – 1700 nm): This is the point that makes the FS-14 exclusive.
400 – 700 nm (Visible) Band: Accurately records surface colors, stains, and pigmentation differences exactly as the human eye sees.
700 – 1700 nm (NIR & SWIR) Band: Penetrates deep into the material structure to “read” chemical bonds, measuring moisture (water), fat, polymer structures, and internal defects.
“All-in-One” Analysis: This perfect combination allows for a comprehensive product evaluation. For example, on an apple sorting conveyor: the device can simultaneously sort fruits based on red/green color (Visible) and detect hidden internal bruises (SWIR) at the same time.
Comprehensive 3D Data Cube (Hypercube) export: When scanning across a sample, the camera generates a massive data block containing 2 spatial dimensions (X, Y) and 1 spectral dimension (λ). Every pixel on the object’s surface carries a continuous spectral graph from 400nm to 1700nm, providing a huge amount of information for analysis algorithms.
“See-through” capability and blind spot overcome: The device can both sort transparent/semi-transparent materials based on infrared rays and act as the nemesis of scrap black plastic (because black plastic absorbs the 400-700nm band but reveals a clear spectral fingerprint in the SWIR band).
Machine Vision system compatibility: Despite the massive amount of acquired data, the FS-14 is equipped with broadband transmission protocols, ensuring continuous scanning capabilities and smooth compatibility with Machine Learning algorithms for real-time automated sorting decisions.

Practical Applications
With the capability to cover both visible light and short-wave infrared, the CHN SPEC FS-14 is an “all-seeing eye” for many industries and R&D:
Food & Agricultural Processing Industry:
- Evaluating the ripeness of fruits and vegetables through color, while simultaneously measuring Brix (sweetness), moisture, and detecting hidden bruises.
- Automatically separating foreign objects (stones, plastics, nylon) that have identical colors to agricultural products but completely different chemical structures.
Complex Waste Management & Recycling: Automatically sorting diverse types of waste based on surface color and accurately distinguishing engineering plastics, black plastics, paper, and wood scattered on scrap conveyors.
Art, Museums & Forensic Science:
- Illuminating and separating hidden paint layers beneath a classic painting (serving art restoration).
- Authenticating forged documents, inspecting the differences in printing inks even if they share the same color when viewed with the naked eye.
Biomedicine & Pharmaceuticals: Evaluating the color and active ingredient uniformity of tablets; scanning and analyzing biological tissues without the need for specimen dyes.
